Saturday 12th September 10:00am – 4:00pm
Join us for a nourishing day of movement, stillness and deep rest inspired by the
Five Elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
As we journey through Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal, we'll explore the wisdom of the seasons within ourselves through Yoga, Qi Gong, meditation and relaxation.
This retreat is an opportunity to slow down, reconnect and restore
balance as we move through the changing rhythms of life.
Arrive, settle in and enjoy a hot drink before we begin. Take time to connect
with the peaceful surroundings and ease into the day.
Flow Yoga
We begin with the Water element and the energy of Winter.
Through gentle flowing movement, we'll explore the qualities of softness, stillness and inner reflection. Winter invites us to slow down, conserve energy and reconnect with
our deeper reserves. This practice offers space to listen inwardly and
honour what is quietly waiting to emerge.
Qi Gong
As we move into the Wood element and the energy of Spring, we'll awaken
the body with gentle, uplifting Qi Gong.
This practice encourages growth, flexibility and expansion, helping us release
stagnation and welcome fresh possibilities. Spring reminds us that new
beginnings are always available.
Fire Element Meditation & Zen Practice
The Fire element invites connection, joy and presence.
Through a gentle meditation and simple floor-based Zen practice, we'll bring awareness to the heart space, cultivating openness, warmth and ease. This is an opportunity
to pause, soften and reconnect with ourselves.
We'll pause for a relaxed lunch and time to enjoy the peaceful surroundings
of Launceston Farm.
Please bring a nourishing lunch to enjoy picnic-style, either indoors or
outside in nature, weather permitting.
Take a gentle walk, rest beneath the trees, journal, connect with others.
Core & Grounding Practice with Pilates Balls
The Earth element invites us to slow down, root deeply and return to our centre.
Using Pilates balls to enhance core awareness, stability and balance, we'll explore mindful movement that cultivates strength, support and connection. This nurturing practice encourages a sense of steadiness and nourishment from within.
Yin Yoga
Our final movement practice is inspired by the Metal element and the season of Autumn.
Through long-held Yin Yoga postures, we'll work gently with the lung meridian and explore the theme of letting go. Autumn teaches us to release what is no longer
needed, creating space for clarity, gratitude and renewal.
We'll complete our elemental journey with a guided Yoga Nidra and meditation.
This deeply restful practice allows the body and mind to absorb the experiences of
the day, bringing together the wisdom of all five elements and inviting
a sense of wholeness and balance.
Suitable for all levels of experience.
Come exactly as you are and give yourself a day to pause, breathe, move
and reconnect with the natural rhythms of the seasons within.
